About the Whistleblower System
最終更新日:2023年9月7日
In recent years, there have been many instances in which unethical business practices which have disturbed citizens safety and peace of mind, such as covering up vehicle manufacturer recalls or falsifying the displayed information on food packages, have come to light thanks to the reports of interior employees.
In response to these instances, in order to guarantee that businesses are functioning in compliance with laws which protect the lives and wellbeing of citizens, as well as consumer interests, and to protect laborers who report misconduct for the sake of public interest from being subjugated to possible damages or mistreatment in their workplace, a whistleblower protections system was enacted under the “Whistleblower Protection Act” (Act. No 122 of 2004) on April 1st, 2006.
In Tokushima City, in order to assure that matters relating to instances of whistleblowing may be carried out appropriately and without difficulty, the “Guideline for Procedures Related to Employee Whistleblowing in Tokushima City” has recently been published, along with the establishment of the “Whistleblowing Consultation Counter” at which you can ask questions and receive consultation about the various whistleblower protection laws.
