Vaccinations for Infants

Vaccinations for children up to the age of 90 months are listed in the handbook Himawarikko Techo, which is sent to parents by the time a child is 2 months old. This handbook contains pre-examination forms for each vaccination.

  • The following vaccinations are free of charge for registered Tokushima residents who fall into one of the appropriate age groups on the day of vaccination.

DPT-IPV
(Diphtheria, Pertussis,

BCG

(Vaccination between 5 and 8 months old is recommended)

MR(Measles & Rubella)

Vaccinations for Older Children

Tokushima City sends the pre-examination forms for vaccinations to children when they reach the appropriate age for the vaccinations as indicated below:

Girls from the 6th year of elementary school up to and including the 1st year of high school Girls in their 1st year of middle school
*Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Catch-up Vaccination
(cervical cancer prevention)
Girls who have not yet received HPV and are born between Apr. 2, 1997 and Apr. 1, 2007 If eligible, no additional notification needed.

* Information on Human Papillomavirus infection (cervical cancer prevention) Catch Up Vaccination was detailed in 2022. Vaccination Period is until March 31st, 2025.
